Nothing compares to the anticipation of the first bite into a freshly baked empanada or pie with an amazing butter crust and delicious filling.

There is however a deeper meaning to pie. Why do people love pie? It's symbolic, especially when we get into the holidays. It represents union, love and comfort.

When we think of pies, many think of them merely as a way to put on some weight or a gift to bring to a holiday party.

But pies have been bringing people together since the time of the ancient Egyptians. In fact, there was a point that everything that was baked in an oven was considered a pie.
